Education and Qualifications

  • CCAB (ICAEW, CIPFA, or ACCA) or CIMA or equivalent.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development

Experience

  • At least five to ten years’ experience in a senior financial management role in a service-based organisation to include management accounting and year-end financial accounts preparation and audit process.
  • Experience of managing and leading teams.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a complex environment, able to adapt in response and to develop solutions in response to new situations building on previous knowledge and skills. Experience from a multi-academy trust, school or other charitable or public sector environments.
  • Budgeting and forecasting systems.

Knowledge

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including FRS102.
  • Microsoft Office, with particularly strong Excel formula skills.

Desirable

  • Sage 200.
  • Academies Financial Handbook.

Other requirements

  • The ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels within an organisation and external to an organisation with strong influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Resilience, the ability to handle high levels of pressure and be able to meet deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ability to travel between Anglian Learning school sites in a timely manner.
